Hitachi 50" RPTV Startup Problem

I purchased a Hitachi C50-FD2000 HDTV/RPTV three months ago. This set
is an Asian model made in Japan. Within the past week, the set has
occasionally, 2 times out of 10, had an intermittent picture on
startup which will go away after 2 to 5 minutes. The unit will then
run for hours without a problem and the overall picture quality is
really great! This problem occurs with different input sources such
as DVD and satellite with a room temperature of around 75 to 85F.

I wouldn't think it would make any difference which unit I power up
first on startup/shutdown but I may be wrong. Any ideas?

My tech support will come from Manila which is around three hours
travel time from where I live in Angeles City, so I would greatly
appreciate any comments that might help me troubleshoot the problem.
Thanks in advance!

It sounds like a component on one of the scan circuits or power supply is
thermo sensitive, or something like that. The tech will have to troubleshoot
the set for a thermo problem if this is the case. This type of fault can be
tricky to find.
