I have a Hitachi 36" model #36C39B... came in with intermittent start up..
Customer said it would come on and play if you hit the power button enough
times.. checked and soldered connections on all boards and in powersupply..
when I hit the powerbutton.. green led lights up and relay clicks about 3 or
4 times.. then light goes off after few seconds.. also you can hear the
sound in the speakers as it shuts down..ive checked diodes and transistors
and resistors on power board and everything seems to be ok.. thinking this
may be a cap prob or maybe a zener.. any help is appreciated...

Schematic and begin checking the protect and power supply regulation
circuits. Don't over look the obvious such as an open protect device,
(Hitachi uses multiple styles of these components), etc. If you have access
to Hitachi's web site download the training manuals for the applicable
chassis. It may be cumbersome but also a great diagnostic tool.
