I would recommend against purchasing this item.I purchased mainly for the flex shaft, as I already owned a Dremel brand rotary tool.To use the flex shaft, you unscrew the front part of the rotary tool, then screw the extension shaft onto the tool. The threads are the same size for this tool and for the dremel brand.Inside the flex shaft, there is a thing that turns - kind of like a cable, I assume. At the end of the flex shaft that connects to the rotary tool, there is a square rod that goes into the rotary tool in the same place where you'd normally put bits into the rotary tool. However, it is not possible to tighten the collet and the collet nut around the square rod.Furthermore, even if you could tighten the collet around the rod, you can't pull the rod out of the flex shaft in order to get a tight fit before screwing the shaft onto the rotary tool.It is supposed to work like this: you don't use the collet, and there is supposed to be a collet nut with a square hole that the square rod fits into. THIS SET DOES NOT HAVE THIS IMPORTANT PART! Consequently, you can not use the flex shaft that comes with this kit.To make things even more interesting, the diameter for t
he collet nut on this rotary tool is a different size than on the Dremel brand! So even if you shell out 3 or 4 bucks for the Dremel square collet nut driver, it won't fit on this. The only way you can use the flex shaft is if you happen to have a dremel brand rotary tool and you get a square collet nut driver. You won't be able to use the flex shaft on this rotary tool.I tried to talk with the seller about getting a collet nut driver, but they wouldn't supply one or cover the cost of one, and insisted that I pull out the square rod from the flex shaft (NOT POSSIBLE!) and use the normal collet and collet nut for circular rotary tool bits with the square shaft.Do not buy this item. And beware of their customer service. Other items shipped from this seller were satisfactory and arrived as described, but seller refused to resolve the issue of this incomplete and therefore defective item.
Great product however some Dremel accessories will not work on it due to the threads on the flex shaft.
