I am using hiCreateTreeTable functions to create UI
is there a way to edit the table interactively ?

Great to hear from you .
too bad the fields are not editable.
But then again we can't have everything .
Can a trigger be made when you click the fields
then populate a form perhaps ?

Yes, there are a variety of callbacks available for the field - so you should
be able to use these to populate another form - or populate other fields on
the same form.
