Whilst in Australia recently, I purchased the subject kit, and hopefully
someone in this forum is familiar with it. Sure saves me a lot of time, but
have a question re. testing Thyristors. Have one, in an underwater strobe that
I'm not sure if it is bad. When connected to the tester, the LED starts to
flash like a good SCR/diode, then both flash like an open circuit, then one
"hesitates" and flashes, and the cycle repeats. Should a thyristor act this
way on this tester or should it indicate like an SCR? If I connect just the
annode and cathode test leads to the thryristor, I get a good "diode"
indication. Thanks in advance for any help.
