Turn on but 15 mins later shuts off?
I have looked for bad cold joints, redid a few around the HOT heatsink but
can't really find anything obvious.
Looked for bad caps again I can't find anything abvious?
The HOT appears to run hot then shutsdown? I assume

This must be a common problem on these set.

This sounds like bad solder connections
do as suggested before you Blow up
many parts.

No there is no light on the display when it shuts off.
I don't have a diagram so it is hard to figure what is what. I didn't
check the B+ going to the HOT.
Where are the protection circuits in this set?
Is this a common problem with the LOPT transformer leads? What exactly
would cause the removal of it and resoldering of the leads? I have seen
any
cold joint around it.
With the Horizontal driver transformer is this the same problem as
above?

I was just wondering if the HOT had been replaced by a replacement thus
giving me this problem. It does get overheated?
What is the original part number for the HOT on this set?

In order of failure modes on that tv set.
1. Bad solder connections to h-driver transformer, will not be able to see
the hairline cracks by eye alone.
2. Bad solder connections to the HOT itself.
3. Bad flyback, lots of high failure rate of the flyback itself. Usually
they will start to breakdown internally when they get hot before they fail
completely.
4. Bad/weak picture tube, causing excessive beam current draw which heats up
the HOT. Sometimes if one gun gets far enough out of balance from the other
two the AKB will blank the video, indicating the tube replacement.
