Hi ALL you sattelite experts.

On a recent auctions I've got a sattelite receiver/decoder made by
Scientific Atlanta , model # 9708.

It is probably an anchor ..but is it usefull in anyway for any reception
or amateur radio use (as a receiver).

I've tried it on a friends foxtel setup (with his dish I assume pointing
to the sattelite.. It did not get any channels ..although indicating
signal strenght, displays the menu OK (on video) ..but that is it..

So has someone made use of these ..or is any parts useful ..say the
front end tuner ..
the series number is PALB BTV 240 6UPXCX 803-341
