Help please : LG Mod DA-3520 HOME DVD system out of order

Hi

I enjoyed this home DVD player since to day.
Unfortunatelly now i am getting a "DVD error" message each time i attempt to
open the DVD drawer, acces to the Menu or any fonction relating the DVD.
The DVD drawer remains close. Motor stays static.
Tuner is OK.
Any idea to revive this damned DVD function ?

You can try cleaning and inspecting for any obvious mechanical hang-ups or a
blown fusible device, you _might_ get lucky, but the bottom line is:

The laser pickup is bad - they die like flies.

This probably puts it out of the range of an economical repair, if parts are
even available at all, which they often aren't for the cheaper brands.
