help identifying diode in maxtech monitor

Hey all -- I have a blown diode with these markings:

ST
MDV
04
600
C544

The "ST" is a logo.

I'm guessing the full part number is 1SC544, but I can't
find it in the nte cross-reference. Looks like a rectifier --
black case with a painted white band.

Anyone have a reference, or know where I could look it up?

My guess would be that it's made by ST Micro [http://us.st.com] - and it's a
600V rectifier.
In what section of the monitor is the diode used? This may give a small clue.
