Hello I"m trying to identify a capacitor. I believe it to be tantum but
other than that no idea. Thanks for the help.. cap =>

10uF tantalum. I'm not sure how or if the voltage is shown on these,
but you might be able to infer it from the board it's on (derate by
about 30 - 50%, i.e. for a 12V line use a 25V cap).

well the figures 106 is 10 x 10 ^6 pf. (6 Zeros)
ie 10,000,000 pf = 10ľf.
The Voltage may be 14 volts. But I think I would go with Tims Comments..
What makes you think its faulty?

No thought in my mind that its faulty, just a bad habbit of hating shipping
charges for such inexpensive components has driven me to just scrap old
devices. Helps a lot aside from the bit of time it takes to salvage them.

I would hesitate to trust a surface mount component that has been
through the rigors of being removed from a board (at least by me :).
Unless you truly have no money it's better to get a selection of parts
and use them fresh, rather than creating problems for yourself later.
