Hi, all

I have HP laser printer 1200. It shows a "formatter error" -- all lights are
on.
I just got a new board from HP and still have same problem.
According to service manual, this error means "formatter internal RAM or ROM
error". Assuming that new board is a working one, I need some ideas on what
else might be wrong.

Thanks,
Rudolf

What setup are you using? I used to get this under windows when using it
connected to a Lexmark printer server with the parallel port. The USB
port worked fine directly connected to the printer.

I suspected problems with Windows printer drivers and the print server,
but never investigated it fully.

Interestingly, printing to PDF first and then using Acrobat to print to
the printer always worked fine on the Windows box.

Printer is not connected to PC.
I am getting error as displayed on LED's.
