I picked up a Heathkit QM-1 Q-meter at the flea market, but it is
missing the calibration coil. Does anybody know the critical
characteristics of this coil so that I can improvise a substitute?

The coil has the following specifications:

L= 250 microhenries
CsubE= 96 picofarads
Q= 110

It has two banana plugs on it that match the Q-Meter sockets. I would
suggest that you build youself something close and then have it
calibrated with another Q-Meter.

Good Luck, Don W6QEY
