Hi I was wondering if anyone can offer me any advice on how to solder up
2.5mm 4 pole connectors. These are the connectors you might find on a
head set for a Nokia phone. I have had a couple of goes, but it's
fiendishly tricky because the parts are very small and it easy to melt
the plastic separators between each pole. It is also very easy to create
solder bridges. I was wondering if conductive epoxy resin was the way to
go such as the stuff made by alpha adhesives. I also thought that I
might have more success if I placed the wires between two small washers
threaded on to the back of the connector, to act as a solder trap. I
could then add ceramic washers or spacers to create insulative gaps
between the connector poles.
Thanks for any advice anyone can give me.
