The monitor seams to be dead. The led on the front does not light nether
green nor amber when the on/off button is pressed. I checked the fuse on the
main board of the monitor and it is ok.

I have taken contact with Hansol's technical service in Norway and the
reparation cost is not far from the cost of a new monitor. On the other hand
it is a pity to through it away, it is in good shape (manufactured February
2000) and it was not much in use. I would like to repair it myself, but what
is failing? My guess is that the failure may be on the power supply or on
the components of energy saving function.

Any one knows about the problem, could you indicate the possible failing
components and/or the points I should check to identify them.

Is it possible to get the service manual and/or the schematics of the
monitor?

There is a page here http://www.geocities.com/monitorss/links.html
with links to sites where you can search for repair tips for your
monitor; also links to the sci.electronics.repair monitor repair faq,
and other info. I have e-mailed you the schematic you need.

Hello

I wonder if it would be possible for you to assist me also, in respect
of a Hansol 501P monitor? I don't see this model through the useful site
you mention...

(Being disabled/unwaged, one counts the pennies...)

TIA
