Hacking a motorolla Advisor Gold

I would like to take apart a Motorolla Advisor Gold and hook it up to
RS 232 or something to write a program to log incoming pages etc. Any
information would be appreciated.

Forget it. The best you can do is output digital data that has to be
decoded by an external decoder. You can do as well with a Radio Shock
scanner with an added discriminator output.

You also have to decide if you wanna do POCSAG or FLEX (there are
other protocols but I'll assume you're in the USA). Search the web
for "POCSAG decoder" or "FLEX decoder". For example, the Kantronics
KPC-9612 has a built in POCSAG decoder which outputs in ASCII to an
RS-232 port. I used this to monitor pagers for an agency until they
decided they could do it better themselves. The various scanner sites
should have links and lists. For example:
