Group layout objects

Hello,

Is there a way in which objects in Virtuoso Layout Editor (instances,
mosaics, shapes) can be grouped together, so that any movement command
would move all the objects together? The only possibility I know of is
to do a Edit>Hierarchy>"Make Cell", but that creates an additional
level of heirarchy which I don't want.

There is a "Constrain Manager" under CIW->Tools->Constrain Manager ...
where yo can group layout instances.
The functionality differs a bit from version to version, so have a
look at the docs
and play around with it.

Arnold,
Choose one of these figures as parent. Then select other objects, make
each one a child of the parent figure [ Edit->other->Attach/Detach ] .
Now if you move the parent object, the children follow.

Create|Group does what you want. I think it is available since 6.1.0.

Thanks Jean-Marc,

Is there any equivalent of Create|Group in version 5.10.41?

Arnold.

Thanks Suresh,

I've already tried that. It doesn't work for mosaics (arrays of
instances).

Arnold.

I don't think so. For sure, it is OA only.
