Hello,

Ive got a u-blox gps module (samb) with an active antenna inbult. I need to
construct a TLL level converter circuit so i can connect the GPS module to
the serial port of a pc.

Has anyone done this using a MAX3232 ic? or know where i can get any good
schematics of tried designs? ive ran a few searches on google but nothing
has realy helped.

any ideas?

David.

All you need is an SP232/MAX232 or similar at the voltage used by the
SAM (3V3 IIRC). connect the TX output of the GPS to the TXIN pin of the
SP232, and the TXOUT pin of the SP232 to RXIN of the PC. If you wish to
send commands to the SAM you'll need to wire TX from the PC to RXIN of
the SP232, and RXOUT of the SP232 to the RX pin of the SAM. You will
also need to connect GND from the SAM module to GND on the PC serial port.
