Hi,

Can someone point a good school in Silicon Valley teching IC layout -
mainly analog/mixed-signal? Good meaning where they take care teaching
layout essentials and have good reputation in the industry.
Thanks

Many listed.

But I agree with Jim, it is also an ART! You can only learn HOW to use the
tool.

Thanks for the answers.
Jim, I agree with you that it is an art and comes from hands-on
experience. Yrt, do you know of a company that is willing to hire
someone just on the basis of this presumption - he/she will learn in
house from the gurus. I don't know any. I myself am an analog designer
with quite some years of experience and I have done layout, but this
of course doesn't help my wife to get a job. Many companies want to
see that the person has finished some kind of layout school.
That's why I am asking.
Google search is an option, but I am interested to get people's
recommendations.
As for the Berkeley extension courses - mildly said they are not worth
spending the money, speaking about the analog ones. I haven't taken
them too, but I know people who have and got to tell you instructors
there are just interested in getting through the course without caring
how muchthe students learn and besides, those instructors are not
competent in all they tech - except for Willy Sansen perhaps. That's
another reason I wanted to get some personal recommendations.
