Some libs are annoyed that Dominion \"sold out\" by settling with Fox,
that\'s dumb. They\'re not regulators and they speak the same language
Murdoch speaks (and probably the only one his ilk understands) - cold
hard cash.

$787 million is a nice windfall for a firm with annual revenues of only
just shy of 20.

Good day for the domestic hardware design/manufacture industry. Bad day
for MAGA News Network and dopey talking heads/media moguls.

It was going to jury trial so nothing could be guaranteed, especially one involving 1st Amendment considerations. The settlement was exactly 1/2 of their claim of damages, which was going to be very carefully scrutinized and audited during the award phase of a trial, and are even further scrutinized and usually reduced in the almost certain appeals court. Trials like this can go on for a decade or even more, they are not quick, at huge expense to both parties. Both Dominion and Fox came out way ahead by settling.

These people, on both sides, know what they\'re doing. No one cares what some lib thinks about anybody \"selling out.\"

It\'s a Canadian company, it\'s not domestic. What is Dominion doing developing software in Serbia?

I forget the actual figures but the payment is tax deductible.

I think the real effect of all this is how much *farther* non-MAGA
folks\' opinions of the Foxaholic MAGA folks has fallen. I mean,
if the folks you are listening to *and parroting) ADMIT that
they were lying just to keep your naive viewership and you STILL
have Fox (and related PR) in your daily viewing habit...

Gotta wonder what other aspects of reality you\'re deliberately choosing
to ignore (out of fear)...

Bud Light probably isn\'t too concerned about being boycotted by its
80/20 customer base of alcoholics, either..

It\'s complicated:

I don\'t see anything about the defendant taking a deduction, looks like they can:

You would think they had liability insurance, but there was no mention of it in the news.

But a senior media executive told Insider that insurance typically handles these types of payments.

MAGGOTs do the same thing everyone does. They listen to sources that make them feel good. Every one of us is guilty of that. Everyone!
