Hi all

Any ideas how I can stop a persistant whistling coming from my Sanyo 28"
widescreen TV?

It seems to be coming from the aerial socket area. When I press or move the
aerial socket it changes tone and sometimes stops.

Cheers for any help

Line Output Transformer (LOPT) faulty. Trivial 2 fix.

Anything in the smps and horiz deflection ckts can radiate hi-freq noises.
Start by checking the lopt as suggested, sometimes just resoldering it's
pins to the pcb will reduce the noise, otherwise proper application of a
glue or shellac to the offending item may quiet it. Be advised, even ferrite
cores and inductors may exhibit resonant noises. it may be a touch and go
effort to actually determine the offending device and then remedy the
situation.
