I have a GE VCR Model 1VCR6018X built in 10-2-1985 that worked
flawlessly till yesterday. A fuse blew in the power supply
incapaciting the entire VCR. I opened the VCR and the fuse is totally
black indicating a major component is burnt..Can I have it repaired?
Can anyone give me a ball lpark figure on the cost of repairing this
VCR. I hate to think that I have to throw it away ...I know what some
of you people will tell me throw it away and buy another VCR which are
outmoded now with the DVD and CDR's.. Anyways I would like to have it
repaired if it does not cost me an arm and a leg. thanks

Varies from one area to another and one shop to another. With the power
supply repair and the routine maintenance it surely needs, don't count on it
being much less than 100.00.
