GE TV 27GT610 Audio Problem

My GE 27GT610 has lost the right channel audio. Anybody know if
there's a common/simple problem that might cause this? I don't have a
service manual and am reluctant to spend $20 or $30 for one for a
12yr. old set.

Roger Grady:
Check the settings for the audio..... set it for "stereo" or "mono" .......
make certain it is not in the "SAP" mode.

Thanks but that's not it - set doesn't have SAP, and R channel is
dead in either Stereo or Mono. And I just discovered when I turned it
on to check your suggestion that it's an intermittent. The R channel
was working at first but then went off after several minutes. This is
a CT167R chassis - is that known to have solder joint problems?
