T.V. GE 27GT615 (CTC 177 BH2) was worked over by a plumber (I presume)
judging from the shape the tuner was left in. All bent, no top cover.
Must have used vice grips or pliers. In any case, after doing the tuner
soldering, (and other solderings) I found that the HOT was shorted. Also
CR4403 was leaky and C4407 open.
The horizontal output transistor in the set was a 2SD1885. I do not have
this transistor on hand, so I used a BU508D. It runs kind of hot. Does
anybody know offhand if the correct transistor is a 2SD1885 or has the
transistor been substituted? Any suggestions for a suitable replacement?
Thanks for any help.

The schematic shows Q4401 to be a P/N 200167.
This crosses to a NTE 2324.
Note: A 2SD1885 also crosses to a NTE 2324.
Don't know if this helps?

I forgot to add ...
A BU508D crosses to an NTE 2318 ... I specs on the NTE 2324 and the NTE
2318 differ considerably ... this may be the cause of it running
hot(ter).

Be careful not to get a Generic 2SD1185 if so it will run Hot.
Get the 200167 it wont run Hot but nice and cool.

The 200167 2SD1885 does not have an internal damper diode, where the BU508
does. Use the 200167.
