Gartner says semi market has performed better than expected

The semiconductor industry continues to move away from worst-case scenarios for 2009, with Gartner reporting that worldwide semiconductor revenue is on track to total $212 billion, a decrease of just more than 17% year over year. The projection compares to earlier forecasts calling for a more than 24% decline.
