g-board needs rebuilt

I have a Sony 48" rear projector tv, model #KP-48V85, that's 3 years
old. The Sony service tech determined that the g-board needs rebuilt.
He wants $525.00 to repair it.

Does anyone know of a place I can get this board at a reasonable
price?

Does anyone have a clue why such a young tv would already need such
work?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My best suggestion to you is for you to have the Sony service tech that gave
you the repair quote to go ahead and repair the set. The price sounds
very reasonable considering that it involves a couple of home visits.
As far as why it your "young" tv would need this kind of work...... well,
brand new Cadillacs are in the garage getting repaired, new born babies are
in the hospital getting surgery, etc, etc....... things break.
