Hi all,
I am in dire need of a good oscilloscope (plus maybe other test gear)
but I have no money :-(
I do have a really excellent condition Sun Ultra 5 and maybe a 21"
monitor to sell or trade, preferably with someone in the Greater
Manchester area or thereabouts. Details Below:
Sun Ultra 5
360MHz CPU
Latest Boot PROM
2 HD's, 9.1GB Seagate and 6GB IBM
384MB RAM
56x CD-ROM
All Sun U5 Specs as usual (built-in graphics, sound, ethernet etc)
Spare 128MB Sun RAM
Spare Tekram SCSI-II host (from PC but should work in U5 I'm told - I
never got around to fitting it)
Spare Yamaha SCSI CD Writer
Spare 2.1GB SCSI HD
Loaded with Solaris 9, ready to go straight off my network
Lots of other software loaded and on CD, including Solaris 8 for Intel
(Sort your own licenses out)
Hitachi 21" CM802ET monitor
Very good condition
Owned since new (cost Ł1100 !!!)
Excellent display, non-Trinitron FST, so no wire shadows, but
extremely fine shadow mask for fantastic image (better than Trinitron
IMO)
Runs on the Sun (or a PC) at 1600x1200 at 75Hz
Includes free "I've got something better than a PC" smugness factor!
The Ultra 5 and monitor can be sold/traded separately. I'm selling the
monitor since I really need to replace it with something smaller to
make room for the oscilloscope (or maybe trade for a 17" TFT
monitor...). It currently switches between the Sun and two PC's, one
on dual-monitor!
Total value with the monitor is probably about Ł600-Ł700 on eBay, but
I don't like eBay and would rather avoid it.
Any offers?
