Freeware program for MAGNETICS design?

Guest
Hello people

Is there any free software to do magnetics design?
Most software for this purpose are expensive!

[]s from Chaos Master (using a poorly-installed copy of SLRN as
Gravity was sucked by a black hole)

Take a look here http://femm.foster-miller.net

Look at Ansoft Maxwell SV (student version).

I'm not hiding from the police; I'm just trying to avoid the email
harvesting programs that send me spam! Now if they would just get rid
of spammers (grin)...

I've played with Ansoft Designer and some of its predecessors. Ansoft
makes powerful design tools; once you get past the learning curve you
can accomplish a lot of things. The student versions (SV) are just
highly limited versions of the "big guns" that sell for big bucks. I'm
not aware of any low cost, high performance design tools that won't
set you back at least several thousand dollars.

Good luck with your research,

Mark

BTW: Mark is my real first name (or at least that's what it says on my
birth certificate!).

If you're looking for 2D-3D Electromagnetic field simulators,

You can also take a look at the free version of Sonnet at:
http://www.sonnetusa.com/

Or Zeland's IE3D Method of Moments simulator
http://www.zeland.com/ie3d.html

They allow you to evaluate the tool for free.
