Frankfurt clock

Someone knows what to do for receiving radio signals to get the clock from
Frankfurt ? I microprocessor will run the circuit.
I would like to know who produces the chip or chips needed for this.

Hi Enzo,

Look for modules or chips using "DCF77" in your search text. The signal
is on 77.5KHz and if you want to build your own detection algorithm you
will likely need to build a crystal filter, especially if you live south
of the Alps and the signal may not be as strong as in Northern Europe.
If you need detailed information about the transmitted signals this is
the site of the agency that runs the time clock system:

Hi,

There is a data sheet on the Conrad site for just such a
module which may help you.

Do a search on DCF77 and at the bottom of the list there is a
receiver module with a link to its data sheet. It looks as though
the same chip could be used for MSF or WWVB with a change of
crystal to 60kHz. I'm supposing though that this is used as an
on-frequency filter because the bandwidth is given as 40Hz. It is
possible that the same module, or something similar, might be
found in those inexpensive 'radio-controlled' wall clocks you see
around.

Cheers - Joe

If you switch from 77,5 kHz to 75kHz you will get "Swiss Timing".

Wow, I didn't know the Swiss had their own time transmissions. It looks
like the code is compatible with DCF77 so you might only need a
different crystal. I wonder what these crystals cost on the free market.

AFAIR Temic produced a range of Time code frontend ic's.
i think atmel bought Temic, but there is no reference to Temic on the
Atmel site anymore.

I have a couple of Temic datasheets i could email to you, if you want

Serious error.
All shortcuts have disappeared.
Screen. Mind. Both are blank.
