Flat screen monitor

I have a 17" flat screen monitor with a problem. Whenever I am
viewing graphics the black appears as a light gray. When veiwing text
files the black appears normal and the colors are always normal. What
is the problem?

Normal for some Flat LCD Displays, check other devices of the same vintage
and manufacturer. May try tweaking the contrast and brightness levels via
the user menu, could reduce the graying effect.
