On the off chance anyone else here uses cut-down silicone rubber for
cassette tape drive bands etc
http://www.matalan.co.uk/product/detail/Homeware/Kitchen/Cooking-and-Baking/Cookware/S2493155
Now in black and a dull red sympathetic to vintage repair, reminiscent
of the era of carbolic soap, sealing wax and red bakelite. Previously
glaring orange and green etc
Each one provides 40 bands of a good range of sizes, cut down by a half
in thickness and width.
Even the core cylinders of these are useful for pinch wheel replacements
, cut to length and fitted over a nylon or some such core.
