FISHER Amp Studio Standard RS 727

Hello. I was wondering if anyone here can help m?. I had a power
outage and now my Amp won't come on. Everything else works fine. The
Standby light is lit but no power on. I've unplugged it three times,
still no power. Has it blown out and if so, is the the electric
company's fault? Please advise.

symptoms and the completely lacked any halfway technical observations, basic
troubleshooting, voltage measurements and component test results .... based
on that, do you really think anyone can tell you what is wrong with your
amp, let alone who's fault was it.??? What makes you think it was the
power company's fault?? .... oh just a minute, my car won't start, it must
be the gas station's or the oil company's fault.
You would be best advised to take your Fisher amp to a service shop for at
the very least a repair cost estimate so you can make an intelligent
decision with facts instead of internet wild guesses based on absolutely no
relevant or no pertinent technical information.

OK..... so what do you really expect some tech over the internet newsgroup
to say to you...... yea, it sounds like it is broken, ..... the faulty
parts will be found at location xxxx and yyyy and the good news is that you
can fix it yourself with no tools, no test equipment, and no electronics
knowledge or repair experience.... the parts you need to fix this are
readily and cheaply available from any local farm supply and feed
store...... oh, and by the way, from your description of the symptoms and
the conclusive evidence of the faulty parts I mentioned, it is for sure the
power company's fault...... sue their ass.

Yeah, thanks for your help, sofie. Sorry I'm not a tech wiz. All I
know is that the darn thing won't power up even after unplugging. I
guess it's blown out.

I've "repaired" units by simply pressing the reset button, usually located
on the rear behind a small pinhole. If your amp has one, try it. Unplug
the amp, hold in the reset button, plug the amp in, then see if you can
power it up. If you have no reset button or you do but this didn't fix it,
you'll probably have to take it to a shop.
