Hi,
I have a loose something or other on my circuit board. The device workds
fine if I wiggle it just right.
How do I figure out which part to re-solder?

Thanks

You can generally find the cold or broken solder by physical inspection. If
this does not reveal the bad connection, then you can try to gently push on
various components and the circuit board with a small (insulated) wooden or
plastic rod/stick/dowel. If this still does not yield the bad connection,
then you can try to re-solder all accessible joints.

Good luck!

Prodding, poking, close examination. Or, ic you have the schematic,
you can determine where in the circuit the problem is occurring and narrow
the search. It's quite likely that an examination under bright light with
a magnifier if needed will find it. Usually the problem *is* on the board,
not inside a part.

Take a medium sized artists paintbrush and run it over the board until
you disturb the problem area. Then use a smaller paintbrush to wiggle
each part.
