I just recently got my hands on a fijitsu barcode scanner model 51716/001,
brand new out of the box, it was made in the mid 90's. I have searched
every web site I knpw of to see if I can find any information on the input
power or a tech manual ( it was not in the box ). I even went as far as
contacting fijitsu but I have yet to recieve a reply from them... My main
concern is the motor drive and the ~ 5mw diode laser and driver board. It
has some decent mirrors in it also. Any help on this would be great, I am
not as, let's say, electronically savy as everyone on here but I am
learning....

I worked for Symbol Technologies who led (leads?) the Field in Bar Code
Scanners. Your Input Power I would say ranges from 5 - 12VDC
for the Avg Handheld they mfr'd. Possibly higher current if it has a
rechargable battery in the device.

Thats cool I will have to give it a shot, it has the board on it with
several 15 -20 wires running off of it...Normally what do the external plugs
plug into, computer or a cash register ??? If I can find that out I may be
able to reverse engineer it and find out what it is outputting ... I am
sure there all standard .. ??

Thanks again for your help..
