When I took the course we used to take field trips to a Nike site in
New Hampshire and watch them practice by locking their radar onto
commercial flights landing at Logan ;-)

I'll take this as a compliment. :)

Every program has at least one bug and can be reduced by at least one
line. By induction, then, every program can be reduced to a single
instruction, and that will be wrong.

Skolnik predates you- but that thing of his is a compendium of articles
and not a textbook- more a source of equations to be used out of context
by clueless modelers- but I suppose it is good for a very huge
bibliography of seminal references. There are much better texts such as
DiFranco & Rubin, Barton, Nathanson, Brookner, ad infinitum... but
anything by Ridenour is still useful.
