F&P 501 washing machine playing up

Using info from this group I (apparently successfully) identified and
replaced a cold water inlet valve on my Fisher & Paykel GW501-U
washing machine.

After putting the machine back together I ran it for ten seconds, and
cold water flowed where before it had merely trickled.

However when I tried to put a load on this morning it chucked a
wobbly.

When turned on from the wall it now lights up the LEDs and beeps in
the usual fashion, before the 8 LEDs of the Wash Progress indicator
start oscillating, KITT of Knight Rider-style.

Anyone got any ideas what this means? And how to fix it? Given it
worked last night I can't see that I have reconnected the wires or
anything similar incorrectly.

Cheers,

Michael

**** "I seen it but I doan believe it" department!!!!!

This is supposedly the Aus Electronics news group, not the "I don't know how
to fix my washing machine" group.

For everybody's sake get a QUALIFIED person to fix the bloody thing!!

The mind boggles!!!!!!!!!!

Question: Why do F&p washing machines have concrete slabs in them?

Answer: So they sink in the mud faster when you push them off a bridge.

Before I removed ours from the house & left it at the back of the workshop
(semi-working) where it was subsequently stolen...yes...seriously, I played
around with it just to see what would happen if..... Playing with button
combinations while turning on the main power. I actually got the machine to
do this exact same thing. While the LEDs were doing the KIT thing none of
the buttons had any effect at all...so that kinda ruled out the possibility
of it being a diagnostic mode...perhaps a fancy looking store demo display
instead. Cycling the power at the mains returned to normal state. I think it
was only one button i pushed to get it to do it...maybe power or
start/pause.
Anyways...I would try removing the control panel (which you would have had
to do to change the solenoid valve anyway) & making sure you plugged it back
in firmly.
Probably wont fix it...but hey it might be worth a try.
Kinda wish I still had it actually....well the motor anyway. that wind
generator project in this months SC looks interesting, maybe of little use
to me, but interesting.

Hey James,
you can have mine for a 1000 big one's ;o) (still a
bargain for that wind generator project)
I'll even throw in the free loading Kiwis that were sleeping in it when I
got it. hahaha
