"Agency scientists found that when very close (2 cm, less than 1 inch)

Better never go out in the sunshine either then.

They do advise not to do so without sun block.

Pffft ! I've just been out on a lovely bright October day myself and I
can
assure you I didn't use any sunscreen nor do I ever in the UK. But then I
don't sun-bathe. Maybe I did sometimes when playing tennis. I know I did
have some once.

Pfft...
The average intensity of the English sun wouldn't burn an anaemic
albino's shaved crotch.
Did you measure this or did you read it in a report ... :)

Absolutely - every time.

As a kid of about age 2 I actually got seriously sunburnt in the garden at my
home which was at the time in the Isle of Man. I only know this because I was
told about it.

In later years, I can remember Mum applying 'calomine lotion' to burnt parts of
my body. We were living near London then. No sunblock then you see. This was
common for all kids that liked to play outside.

As a consequence I tend to avoid too much sun as I understand previous sunburn
can pre-dispose you to malignant melanomas. One of those ultimately led to my
Dad's death when I was only 18. He'd been stationed in Singapore during his
National Service (a Captain in the Royal Dental Corps !) and burnt very easily.

close!

Naturally, you *do* get days in the U.K that'll burn you, I couldn't
resist making fun of the comparatively mild weather you have though :)

Another one is when we see English 'heat waves' reported... only 30C and
the morgues there are piling up with bodies...
Okay, not literally funny - but for temps like that we in Australia
probably wouldn't bother taking our jumpers off for :)

I've certainly been burned, notably when I was about 8 y/o at Surfers
Paradise. Spent the entire day on the beach in the middle of summer.
Burnt the crap outta myself. So what did I do the next day???
Yep... another day at the beach. I never, ever did that again I can
assure you.

I had a skin cancer on my cheek removed about 3 years ago, thankfully it
wasn't a malignant one. I spent all of my 20's and a lot of my 30's
outdoors all day every day in the tropics, so there has to be some
consequence eventually I guess.

Naw, don't do that... I enjoy his psychotic outbursts.

I thought Phallison was in Vic? Not that it matters I suppose.

And yes - I was referring to King's Cross in Sydney.
I haven't actually been there since I was about 17 or 18 - I bet its
changed a lot since then... some of things I saw back then wouldn't be
acceptable now, I'm sure.

I also recall that Sydney was on some kind of garbage strike at the time
- the streets were filled with garbage bags at the curb - many of them
having been set on fire. Quite a scene late at night, combined with the
usual freaks at the Cross.

Well... anyone feeling the need may do better to select something a little
higher class. The following was, would you believe it, sent to me by an
online gay girl acquaintance. She keeps trying to encourage me to try a
working girl. She's done a bit herself apparently.
