Electronic Counter

I was wondering if anyone could help me create a homemade electronic counter. It's for my place of employment and instead of using my fingers I would rather have a little machine to do it. I was sent here by Graham Knott. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Thanks for the info. The reason I didn't buy the manual hand counter
is that they want 13 bucks for one and I would rather take on the
challenge of making my own. I love stuff like that, but I don't know
a whole lot about electronics (any time I started a project, I moved
on to something else).

I'll look for the "counter circuit" on the web but I might have to
call upon you all again.
