WITH THIS BIONIC NOSE, COVID SURVIVORS MAY SMELL THE ROSES AGAIN

Seems it would have been simpler to get vaccinated.

I\'ve had all the shots (original and 3 boosters) and I still got Covid
recently. A very mild version of it fortunately, but tested positive on
the drug store kits and had a few of the symptoms so was reasonably sure
it was Covid. Did not lose sense of taste or smell. Just stayed home for
the period needed and was feeling much better after just a few days. The
tests showed lighter and lighter results until it no longer showed
positive over about a week.

Mind you the first few days were unpleasant.

I suspect if I had not have the shots it could have been far worse.

Get your shots and boosters!

Yes, I recently had covid and probably got infected the day before
getting my booster although I didn\'t have any symptoms for about 5 days.
I tested strongly positive the day before I had any symptoms.
It was like a mild cold and my lateral flow tests were clear 8 days after
first testing positive.
I have now had a total of four vaccinations. AstraZeneca twice, Pfizer once
and Moderna bivalent most recently.

\"A very mild version of it fortunately\"

Most likely mild *because* you were vaccinated. \'

I had something a few weeks/months ago. It was different from any cold I\'ve had, but the symptoms of a cold and Covid are so similar it\'s hard to tell them apart unless you are very sick. The one symptom that would seem to distinguish them is the dry cough, which I did not have. But I felt worse overall than any cold I\'ve ever had. I really didn\'t feel like getting out of bed at all, or even eating. With colds, the major symptom would be a sinus infection that makes it hard to think. I didn\'t have that at all. Just really tired.

Sounds like you caught Omicron since hardly anybody is coming down with the earlier strains. They\'re saying the dominant symptom for that is sore throat. The early vaccines are only about 25% effective in preventing infection.. But now that you\'ve been infected, testing is showing you to be about 75% protected against it 6 months out. Everyone is unique, so you should still get a bivalent booster when it\'s been two months or more from you earlier COVID vaccinations. All the effectiveness numbers quoted are really rough estimates.
