Dual use ultrasonic sensor

Hi.

I am a univeristy student, making an ultrasonic object detection device...
In it I am using 2 circuits, a transmitter circuit with an ultrasonic
transmitter ,
and a receiver circuit with an ultrasonic receiver...

Now, I have a Dual use ultrasonic transducer on my hands and need to make
use of it
as both, receiver and a transmitter....

Does anyone have schematics for a circuit which allows me to do this, or
knows how can I connect
this single sensor to both circuits and have it switch between them two and
achieve the desired
function???

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanx,
Dejan

When can one get a polaroid sonar device in Australia?

I am doing a project for robotics class at Uni and they are using polaroid
sonars taken out from cameras but apparently one can buy them on their own.

I think that unit can help Mr Uzelac as well.

What is the difference with the polaroid sonar devices?

I already have the dual use transducer.
I just need to know how to make use of it the way I want to.
I can also get independant receiver and transmitter, and I have the
circuitry for that, but the problem is that this is meant to
go on the car, so having two sensors next to each other is not the best
design.

MicroZed in NSW sell (~A$45) a great ultrasonic sensor unit that's a
dream to PICAXE drive. Able to detect a broom handle at 3m I recall.
