Is anyone aware of software that allows the generation of DTMF Codes from a
sound card installed in an IBM Clone Computer?

Thank you.

What exactly are you looking for here? Do you want to
punch a number on the keyboard and hear the same
pair of tones that number would make on a phone,
so that you can simulate dialing a number? I assume
that you want something different than what your modem
already does.

If you simply want to generate tone complexes, and don't
mind setting the frequencies individually for each
tone, check out my DaqGen freeware at the site below.

I have a large quantity of data that needs to be sent to a remote repeater
controller board to setup its functions. Keying in the data from the keypad
of a radio takes forever. At this time I'm using a radio to transmit the
DTMF codes, but in the future I will install a phone line, and do the
process via the hard line to prevent others from decoding the tones I send.
The process is very time consuming, and I would like to use my
keyboard/computer to speed up the process.

For some reason I can't access Google, but I've used a different search
engine, and found a few promising hits. In addition a few people have sent
me URLs for software packages that might work. I plan to try them this
weekend.

Thank you.

Below is a wav file with all 16 dtmf tones on it. You can do some
editing using the sndrec32.exe application that comes with
windows. Load the file and then move the slider to the tone you
want and copy. Paste in a new file and keep pasting until the
tone is as long as desired. I've used this to make long tones for
controlling relays and such via a dtmf tone decoder chip. The
other links might also be useful.

Well... In case you were still intereted, Cool edit 1.53 by syntrillium
software has a DTMF generator built in. You simply type in the numbers
and it creates a .wav file (or any format you choose to save actually).

That was one of the offerings I looked at. I was useful.

Thank you.
