Hi when i tried to set up Assura for running LVS i got the following
errors:

*WARNING* Cannot create lock for /home/lokesh/work/umc130/lvs/
sj_opamp_4.hdr.lck
**** aveng terminated abnormally *****
*WARNING* aveng exit with bad status
*WARNING* Status 256
***** aveng fork terminated abnormally *****
*WARNING* Assura execution terminated

Can anybody guess what might be the error.

Thanks and regards,
Lokesh rajendran.

Providing that there are no errors prior to the posted snipet, I'd
check permissions or disk space.

There are a couple of sourcelink solutions for this:

http://sourcelink.cadence.com/docs/db/kdb/2006/Oct/11283482.html
http://sourcelink.cadence.com/docs/db/kdb/2002/May/11021984.html

It may be that there's a problem because your file server doesn't support lockd.

It may also be that you have two runs running at once! If you don't have that,
you can always try:

setenv ASSURA_NO_LOCK 1

before starting Assura (or icfb, if running from within Virtuoso).

Regards,

Andrew.
