Does SUB-BGT mean SUB Brightness?

Before I go and fool around with this setting, does the SUB - BGT mean
-- the SUB BRIGHTNESS level? My monitor is waaaaaay too dark so,
will turing this setting up have an adverse affect or help it? Thanks

Yes, and also "screen" knob on EAT transformer can help.
