I have a Moore and Wright Microcal digital micrometer.
It worked after a fashion, but the moving anvil was very sticky, and
it indicatred "error" at random.
The sensor is an interferometer type with one glass plate attached to
the sliding anvil. This was covered in something nasty.
I removed it for cleaning, and it had all come unglued.
I have reglued it with glass bond, but it no longer works at all, the
display staying at 0 (no surprises here!) but I can't see why not. I
can observe interference stripes through the sensor aperture.
There are two pots on the circuit board. Anyone know what to twiddle?
I tried inclining the top slide, incase I had missaligned the pieces
with no joy.
I assume the etched screens face each other, the fixed one isn't
supposed to be on the other side of the 3mm glass block is it?
(The fixed pieces were "L" shaped, but fell apart.)
Can anyone offer any pointers?
