Difficulty with ALDEC Evite Verilog learning tool

Hello

I am a beginner in Verilog and have downloaded Evita Verilog
interactive learning tool from ALDEC. However, when I try to run it
(after its download and unzip) a window 'Select a file' pops up but
there are no files in the directory. Unfortunately there is no Help
file either. So I just cannot fugure out what to do.

If you had used this Verilog learning tool before, please give me
advice how to run and use this.

Hello Alex--

Try to re-download the tool once again from the vendor's website, and
run a clean install. (That is, run the uninstaller, reboot the Windows
system, and run the installer again.) Are the installation files
corrupted? Do you have the system requirements for this tool?

If you do have the proper system requirements, then there could be
something wrong with the installation of your Windows operating system
(perhaps some DLLs are corrupted), or perhaps the code of the learning
tool is buggy. It looks like this tool was initially created in the 1990s.

The step-by-step outline of the learning tool reminds me of Hypercard
"stacks" in the early 1990s.

I downloaded a copy and ran it with Wine on Linux kernel 2.6.28-16. It
runs well.

Perhaps you could contact technical support at the company and let them
know that the tool is not running correctly for you. Perhaps they will
have a known workaround or solution.
