I have a model TP50H95 Toshiba Cinema Series television. Until this
week, I've absolutely loved it. Now under 'most' circumstances, there
is a big black rectangle in the center of the screen covering most of
the picture. You can still see about an inch on each side, and two
inches on top and bottom of the picture like it is 'behind' the black
area.
Some broadcast channels, and some movies play just fine, and you can
see them all the way through. When my VCR has no input, the
blue-screen also does not have the black section. So far, everything
I've tried in my DVD player has it.
This is quite frustrating. I can bring up the menus, and they appear
on top of the black section of screen, just like they appear on top of
whatever other picture is up.
I've tried the things that were obvious to me. I've unplugged the set
for 24 hours, and I've hit the 'reset' on the menu, but I'm sitting in
front of a black screen with the outline of an old Scooby-Doo episode
while I write this.
Any thoughts are apprecieated. I'll try to check back into the
newsgroup, but my ISP doesn't carry it (thus the google connection).
If you can reply directly, please send to rhatpcezdotcom with the
obvious corrections. The reply is a real address, but is a spambox,
and may take weeks for me to get through.
Many thanks,
Ron
