Difference between Virtuoso_QRC_Extraction_GXL and Virtuoso

Dear All,

Is there any difference between Virtuoso_QRC_Extraction_GXL and
Virtuoso_QRC_Extraction_XL?
I was trying to open a cell imported from a gds file, and there shows
the message in the CIW:

ERROR: ERROR (LM -30): license server (gandalf) does not support
feature Virtuoso_QRC_Extraction_GXL (run 'lic_error -30' for more
information)

I checked the cadence license, we have Virtuoso_QRC_Extraction_XL and
Virtuoso_QRC_Extraction_L. There is
no Virtuoso_QRC_Extraction_GXL license available.

What am I supposed to do? Can I use Virtuoso_QRC_Extraction_XL
instead?

Thanks in advance,
Adam

Hi Adam,

What is your version of Assura ? I have seen this aith Assura 3.1.7.
The best for you is to pop a mail to your Cadence Customer support.
Well, I'm pretty much sure Andrew would have a say on it :)

The difference between the different QRC capabilities is covered in the QRC
documentation, assuming you're using a EXT release for extraction.

However, Adam said that he was importing a GDS file - this message can't have
anything to do with that...

Regards,

Andrew.

Hi Adrew,

I was opening a imported GDS file in virtuoso and this message
popped up. The layout can
not be seen. Is this supposed to have nothing to do with the QRC?

Thanks,
Adam

I can imagine it might happen when telling you that the QRC menu can't be added,
but I wouldn't expect it to impact the ability to see the layout - that's fairly
unlikely...

Try removing any Assura paths or Extraction paths from your UNIX path and make
sure that $ASSURAHOME and $QRC_HOME are not set - then see if the layout can be
seen - that way you can rule out this message as having anything to do with it.

Probably best to contact Cadence customer support...

Andrew.
