DFT Engineers Please advice

Hi Guys

I did my BE in Electronics and communication last year and am
currently working in the DFT field. I currently enjoy the work I do
but its mostly just working with tools with out knowing much of the
inner workings. As I mature as a engineer I hope to understand more
about the tools but can you guys tell me what is better..... going
for higher studies or experience.

I mean 3-4 years from now what would be more useful for me / get me
better responsibility jobs>>>> just experience or ME + experience?
and
when would be the ideal time to go into ME? after 1 year exp ? 2 year
exp?
also if I have to go in for ME.....can anyone suggest some good
colleges where good DFT related work is going on?

If this is not the group to post can someone direct me to the correct
group?

Thanks in advance

Follow your true interests wherever that takes you.
Don't wait for experience to happen.
Just begin.

Confidence comes from working on your own projects.
Where that happens is not important.

When you have a project and a plan.

A masters degree can be done in one year with
no thesis if you just want the credential.
Many universities put courses on-line for free
if you just want to learn.

Good luck.

Hi

Thanks for the reply :)

Regarding the online degrees...are they really worth it? I have heard
pretty bad things about this as in being money taking machines than
anything else.

Maybe I am somthing here....why do you say that I should go for ME
when I have a project? I ME would mean more learning and then after
that a suitable project? are there colleges that take you in for ME
based on your ideas?
Also where can I find info on which colleges are focussing on DFT?

Regards
Sabari

I did not mention on-line degrees. I said

Major universities have such programs for
students who have no thesis projects
in mind and just want to take classes
and get their degree.

I also said:

This is not a degree, just free learning material
Google on MIT, Berkeley etc.

are there colleges that take you in for ME
based on your ideas?
There are colleges that will rule you
out for having no ideas.

Also where can I find info on which colleges are focussing on DFT?
