Denon DVM-1800 info required

I have recently come across a Denon DVM-1800 5 DVD disc player and
discovered that the unit does not display any text or Setup info on
the screen. When selecting SETUP, there is nothing but a discolored
gray screen. The unit powers up fine, but also will not play Discs of
any type. Does this sound like a failed main board/ processor or
another component?

Since it seems to have multiple problems, I would start with the power
supply. Even if you find something there, it doesn't mean there might not be
other problems - pickups die like flies on dvd players, for example.
