Taiwanese engineering?
Sloppy safety agency approval?
Chinese manufacturing?
American purchasing?

Delta is a well-established Taiwanese company.

More likely due to trying to squeeze the last penny out of the design. Such
efforts tend to make designs very sensitive to everything in the
manufacturing process going just right.

Maybe better start buying the ac adaptor on your own.. esp those nice 12V

Seven overheats out of 4.4 million units = 1.6 PPM failure rate.

Zero injuries out of 4.4 million units = 0.00 PPM injury rate.

That's hardly "flawed engineering."

If there's a genuine design fault, the approvals process *should* have picked it up.

I'm wondering what 'overheat' means in the context of the supplied link.

A friend had a Mac/ Delta supply that was being recalled. Hers
smoldered during a law school exam to the point the proctors almost
called the fire dept.
