Have you tried barking back at your neighbors dog,

Next door to work, on my way home their neighbors dog used to bark at
me, so I just barked back at it, now it just looks at me as I walk past.

Well no, that thought never occurred to me. But after taping it, when
I played back a few seconds of the tape, it went absolutely berserk at
hearing its own "voice". That might be a good way to provoke a canine
heart attack in the little mongrel.
